I own some authentic Goyard and this is a very good rep. The Y’s are just barely not touching eachother, very small gaps and good quality overall. However, the biggest flaw and telltale sign it’s a fake is the heatpressed Goyard at the top, it is too deep and in the wrong font.

You can tell if a Goyard St. Louis bag is fake if the heat stamp is too deep and has very thick inscriptions. This always indicates a fake bag, as authentic examples always have thin letters. 1. Heat stamp. The “GOYARD” inscription on the fake Saint Louis bag is stamped too deep into the leather.

There is symbolism behind the design — the dots represent the logging background of the Goyard family. The linking Ys point to the Y within the Goyard name.

The print will show wear overtime, it can fade and lose some of its dots, especially in areas were there is a lot of rubbing. I personally do not mind it too much, it adds character and gives the bag a historical look (like the old trunks). I never had any . My recollection of models which use such design on their handles are saint louis, hardy, artois, anjou.
